2014 Adopted Dogs

"Heidi" came to us on December 13, 2014 when she was abandoned in the parking lot of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  It is rumoured that she originally came from the Centreville area.  She was born about December 15, 2013 and appears to be a Terrier mix.

She is a nice little girl who sits and obeys commands very well.  She has obviously belonged to a family at one point because she loves people and is happy to be with them.  She is hoping for a home for Christmas.

On December 29, 2014 we learned that Heidi would now live happily ever after with a family in Fredericton.  What a wonderful time to start a new life - 2015's all yours, Heidi!!  Congratulations!

"America" came to DunRoamin' on November 14, 2014 when a local shelter asked for help with 11 dogs who had been left with them.  America was born about 2003 and is a very nice, quiet girl.  She appears to be a Boxer who may be the grandmother of the eight puppies who accompanied her to DunRoamin'.  All puppies were soon adopted.

America and her young grandchildren were diagnosed with sarcoptic mange, otherwise known as scabies which is a mite that is very infectious and causes discomfort and itching.  These dogs had all lost some hair and/or had a rash to some degree due to the scabies.  All dogs received a medicinal bath and medication to cure the scabies and were quickly well on their way to being comfortable and healthy.

America is a very quiet and nice girl. She is very laid back, loving and caring. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with Hyperadrenocorticism (also known as Cushing's disease).

On December 29, 2014, America decided she'd like to spend the rest of her life with her new friends.  She now resides in Riverbank where she'll receive the medical care she requires and the life and love she deserves.

"Hooper" and his siblings Davis, Wynonna and Judd came to us from the Hartland area on December 1, 2014.  They were born about May 15, 2014 and appeared to be Lab/Shepherd crosses.  Hooper was thin, had fleas and was very scared.

Hooper was neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and was anxiously awaiting a new home.  In the meantime he and his siblings received all the food, care and socialization they required and enjoyed their foster homes.

On December 27, 2014 we learned Hooper was adopted by a couple in Drummond, NB.  Congratulations!  Merry Christmas!

"Cranberry" is a Maltese who was born in 2004.  She was one of five dogs retired by a breeder from the Centreville area who was surrendered to DunRoamin' on December 4, 2014.  All were unkempt, dirty, reeked of urine, had overgrown toenails, dirty/hairy/inflamed ears, major dental disease and lice.

Cranberry had never been spayed and she required major dental attention.  Her teeth were extracted on December 10, 2014 and she is doing fine.  She feels much better!

Cranberry was initially very scared and timid, choosing to huddle on a blanket by herself, but by Day 2 she was eagerly seeking attention from kind caregivers.  She is a beautiful little ten-year old who would be very happy to have a family for Christmas and start a whole new life.

On December 20, 2014, Cranberry got her Christmas wish.  She is the proud new permanent member of a family in Fredericton.  Congratulations, Cranberry.  Merry Christmas!

"Tinsel" is a Maltese who was born about December, 2009.  He was one of five dogs retired by a breeder from the Centreville area who was surrendered to DunRoamin' on December 4, 2014.  All were unkempt, dirty, reeked of urine, had overgrown toenails, dirty/hairy/inflamed ears, major dental disease and lice were found on them.

All Tinsel's teeth were rotten and required extraction.  He also has issues with his knee joints, but displays no lameness as of yet.  All his medical concerns were immediately addressed.  Tinsel is an exuberant little boy who loves attention.  He climbs onto the lap of anyone who sits near him on the floor and soaks up all the affection he can possibly absorb.

On December 18, 2014 we learned that Tinsel got the Christmas present of his life!  He now has a family of his very own!  He will be the only dog of a family in Plaster Rock where he will share the love of his humans and numerous feline friends, many of whom are ex-DunRoamin' strays.  Thank you so much for making this Tinsel's best Christmas ever.  He is exactly where he deserves to be!  Merry Christmas, Tinsel!

"Blitz" is a male Yorkie who was born in 2004.

Blitz has no teeth and almost no chin left, which is not uncommon with small dogs who have not received regular dental care.  He likes other dogs (except Bling!) and is fine with cats.  He was neutered his first week with us and had dental surgery to remove teeth.

Blitz is very grateful for human attention and affection.  He loves people and can't wait to receive a warm pat, and if he can stand still long enough, a nice human hug!  He is excited to be in a new environment and have his friends around him.

On December 15, 2014, Blitz was adopted to a home in Bath where he'll have one dog friend and many feline friends, several of whom are DunRoamin' cats!  Good luck, Blitz!

"Holly" came to us on December 4, 2014 from the Perth-Andover area where she had sustained injuries when she was accidentally dragged by a car.  She had open wounds on all four feet, both front elbows and the bottom of her chest.  She also had a superficial abrasion on her chin.  Holly was born about May 15, 2014 and is a Shepherd mix.  Other than these injuries, she was very healthy.

Holly was surrendered to DunRoamin' and her injuries were treated.  She was sedated, clipped and scrubbed in order to clean her wounds.  She is treated with sugar bandages to help her heal.  She was given pain medication, antibiotics, vaccinations and routine parasite control and she is healing very well, thanks to her dedicated vet at Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  Holly is a very sweet little girl.  She is quiet, loving and affectionate.

On December 10, 2014, Holly was adopted by a lady from Coldstream.  She will have her Christmas celebration along with her new family.  Congratulations, Holly.  Merry Christmas!

"Judd" and her siblings Wynonna, Hooper and Davis came to DunRoamin' from the Hartland area on December 1, 2014.  She was born about May 15, 2014 and appeared to be a Lab/Shepherd mix.  All were thin, very scared and had fleas.

Judd was spayed, vaccinated, treated for parasites and socialized so that she was no longer timid.  She wads quickly well on her way to trusting people and is the first to come to ask for a pat or scratch on the chin.  She is very close to her sister, Wynonna and it sometimes takes a second look to tell them apart.  Judd is slightly larger, and Wynonna has a pink spot on her nose.  Both are beautiful little dogs who will make wonderful companions.

On December 6, 2014, Judd was adopted by a couple from California Settlement.  Congratulations, Judd, and Merry Christmas!  Your new life begins today!

"Woody" became a ward of DunRoamin' again on October 19, 2014.  He had originally come from Palm Springs, California in February, 2013 when he and some friends were rescued from an overcrowded hoarding situation.  He was born about February, 2011 and was adopted in April, 2014 by a kind man from Prince Edward Island.

Woody is a great boy.  He is shy at first with strangers, but makes up with them very quickly.  He knows many commands like sit, lay down, shake paw, etc and loves to run, jump and play.  He loves dog parks and always returns on command when off leash.  He is good with other dogs, likes cats and definitely loves being with his human.  He likes to sleep on the bed at night.  And he likes to untie your shoelaces!  His family is sad to let him go, but recognizes that they are unable to give him the time and attention he deserves.

On December 6, 2014, Woody met a lady from Canaan Forks and they hit it right off!  Congratulations on your new home, Woody!  Please send us lots of photos of you and your new family!

"Davis" and her siblings Hooper, Wynonna and Judd came to us from the Hartland area on December 1, 2014.  They were born about May 15, 2014 and appeared to be a Lab/Shepherd crosses.  She was thin, had fleas and was very scared.

Davis was spayed, vaccinated, treated for parasites and she and her siblings received all the food, care and socialization they required and looked forward to new homes very soon.

Davis is very attentive and was quickly comfortable enough with her new human friends to sleep leaning on them or lying across their lap.  It took her only a short time to start to trust her new friends.  She loves to play and wrestle with her siblings and she is a very affectionate girl.

On December 6, 2014, Davis was adopted to a home in Newbridge where her new life will begin in earnest.  What a wonderful Christmas this is going to be!

"Baileys" came to us on November 10, 2014 from the Grand Falls area where she was a stray who was rescued by the NBSPCA.  They needed room for another dog in need, so Baileys came to us.  She was born about November 10, 2013 and is a Lab/Rotti mix.  She is very loving and playful.  She is also very attentive to humans and loves to be near people.

Baileys spent her first evening with us playing with another dog and loves the interaction.  She walks well on a leash and loves to check out new smells and sights.  She loves people and wants to be with them at every opportunity.

On December 2, 2014, Baileys met a young couple from Perth-Andover.  She is now a permanent family member, a sister for twin 14-year-olds and a 16-year old.  Congratulations to all!  Send family photos, Baileys!  Have a great Christmas!

All puppies were diagnosed with sarcoptic mange, otherwise known as scabies, which is a mite that is very infectious and causes discomfort and itching.  These dogs have all lost some hair and/or have a rash to some degree due to the scabies.  All dogs reeceived a medicinal bath and medication to cure the scabies and became well very quickly.

On December 1, 2014, Toledo went to his new home near Fredericton where he will live the life of which he is so deserving.  Congratulations, little one.  Have a great first Christmas!  Send pictures!!

"Trish" was returned to DunRoamin' on October 3, 2014.  She had originally come to us in January, 2013 from the Plaster Rock area where she had been found all alone on a road with no houses.  She was cold, dirty and looking for help.  She was adopted in January 2013.

Trish was returned to us on October 3, 2014 because her owner had moved away and no one was willing or able to care for her any longer.  Trish is an exceptionally great dog.  She loves cats, kids and even chickens!  She is good on a leash, loves going for a walk and loves to cuddle - especially if she gets to sleep under the blankets.  Trish was born about June, 2008 and would really like to be part of a family.  She is spayed, her vaccinations are now up to date and she's ready to go as soon as she meets that perfect person!

On November 30, 2014, Trish met a family from Fredericton who fell completely head over heels in love.  She is now the proud permanent member of a family with a young boy and girl who love her already.  Please send photos, Trish!

Royce had been struck by a car in his past and the resulting trauma has lead to severe hip displasia-like problems.  He underwent surgery on his hip the last week of November and he's doing just fine!

On November 29, 2014, Royce got his forever home in Douglas with a very nice couple.  He'll be a new brother for ex-DunRoamin' canine Renegade, now known as Benedict, who was adopted in January of this year.  Congratulations, Royce!  Way to go!!  Have a great life!

Tia Maria is a quiet little girl who was looking for a quiet, warm and loving home in which to live out the remainder of her years.  She has a history of aggression toward cats, so she'd like a person/dog-only home.

On November 10, 2014, Tia Maria, now known as Tee, got her wish.  She will now live in Bristol with her human and new canine friend, Blue.  Congratulations, Tee.  We know you have it made for the rest of your life!

They were brought for help and were fostered while they put on weight and learned to be socialized.  They are very cute and loving and are happy to be warm, safe and have full bellies.

Cecil is a happy, funny, outgoing little boy.  He also is a little chow hound and is very loving.

Jeff was the smallest of the three puppies, but has gained well and is now the largest.  He is also the most shy and he loves his food!

Kelty is a very nice little girl.  She soon was invited to be a foster dog, and . . .

. . . on October 29, 2014 we learned that she would have a permanent home.  Thanks to the gentleman who took her in and gave her the life she deserves.  Please drop us a line and tell us about your wonderful new life, Kelty.

"Jenny" came to us from the Grafton area where she stood the chance of being euthanized.  She was born about March 15, 2014 and hadn't had much of a chance at life, and she deserves that.  She was examined by our vet who determined that she had a urinary tract infection but was otherwise healthy.  Her foster mother reports that she is very sweet, full of love and affection.

On October 29, 2014, we learned that Jenny would have a new home in Washburn, Maine.  Thanks to her family for giving her a new lease on life!

"Clinton" originally came to DunRoamin' on June 20, 2014 from the Centreville area where she and her siblings were found running loose with no mom or human to care for them.  She was born about June 1, 2014 and appears to be a Boxer mix.

Clinton was adopted to a home in July, but the other dog in the home was unable to accept her, so on August 30 she came back to us to find a new family.

On October 3, 2014 we learned that Clinton would have a home of her very own.  Congratulations, Clinton!  Write soon!

"Boo" came to DunRoamin' on September 28, 2014 from the Grand Falls area where he was no longer wanted and it was alleged that his life was in danger.  He was only about seven months old and was not neutered, but his tail has been docked. He is a very sweet little boy.  He weighs 77 pounds.

On October 2, 2014, we learned that Boo has a new home.  Congratulations!

"Stark" and his four brothers and sister came to us along with their mom, Marvel, on August 5, 2014.  His whole family was homeless and was picked up by the NBSPCA in order to ensure their health and safety.  Stark and his siblings were born about July 31, 2014.

On September 28, 2014 Stark was adopted into his forever home where he'll happily enjoy his life with a wonderful family in Saint John.

"Rex" came to us from the Grand Falls area on August 8, 2014.  He was born about January 1, 2014 and is a Boxer/Lab mix.  When his owner fell ill and he had no one to care for him, he needed help.  Rex weighs 59 pounds, is very friendly, is house trained and has no health issues.  He knows basic commands (in French) and is a very nice boy.

His foster mother reported that he had settled in well and that he is a very gentle dog.  He's got a great appetite and loves to chew.  He is very respectful of the other two dogs with whom he was fostered and took very well to his crate training.  He loves people, loves to play, barks at vehicles to alert his foster mother that someone is in the yard and wants to be with his person as much as possible.  His foster mother describes him in one simple sentence:  "He's just a great dog."  He hopes for a home really soon so he can begin his new life.  He went to stay with our friends at Paw & Order in Keswick where . . .

. . . on September 11, 2014, we learned that he had met a human and his canine friend with whom he quickly became best buddies.  Now he and his friend Colt will be man's best friend for a family in the Fredericton area.  Congratulations!!

This is "Jing Lin" (like the sleigh bells at Christmas when she came to us on December 6, 2013 from Woodstock).   She is predominantly Shar pei and is about two years old.  She came to us as she had a bad reputation with her previous owners who could no longer care for her. She apparently was overly enthusiastic in her self-appointed duties as a guard dog and had bitten and threatened people.  Since she has been with DunRoamin’ she has not threatened anyone and has shown us that her aggression is fear-based, that she had not been properly socialized and has had no training (ie:  she doesn’t know “sit”).

Jing Lin has improved with training, is now very comfortable with visitors in her foster home and is getting more comfortable in public.  She will require an experienced owner who is interested in teaching her all the things that good dogs know and have been taught.  Her foster mother finds her to be very playful and cuddly and feels that, although she is bossy with the other dogs, she can live happily with another dog as a companion.  She has a great sense of humour but a potential owner should be aware that “she can’t hold her licker!”

On September 10, 2014, Jing Lin found a wonderful home in the Sussex area.  Congratulations to you and your new family!  Please send lots of family photos!

He was fostered with several cats and dogs and his his confidence grew quickly.  He's a very affectionate and loving little boy who really just wants some humans to love and to love him.

"Harrington" came to us on October 19, 2013 from the Oakland area.  She had been seen for almost a week running loose and dragging a rope from her collar.  She appeared to be very skinny and may have puppies.  She was too scared to ask for help or accept the help from potential rescuers, so a live trap was set, but she decided against it and finally allowed herself to be caught.

She was brought to DunRoamin' and was assessed by the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  Harrington is a Sharpei mix, is about three or four years old, was underweight and had fleas.  She was also in heat.  She was spayed by the Florenceville Vet Clinic and all medical concerns were addressed.

Harrington is a very nice little girl.  She's friendly, happy and is pleased to have that 10-foot rope and choke chain off her neck.   Her foster family reports that she loves people and loves lots of attention in the form of neck rubs, being around people, sitting on laps and strangely enough, being vacuumed!   She greets her family with her tail wagging so hard her butt wiggles from side to side!  She LOVES going for walks and enjoys taking her time with big treats like dog bones.  She knows lots of tricks like sit, down and shake a paw. She lives with cats whom she largely ignores other than stealing their toys, so she'd be fine in a family with cats. Harrington was fostered in Fredericton and . . .

. . . on July 24, 2014 we learned that she would become a permanent family member. Congratulations, Harrington! You have no idea how happy we are to know that you have a family forever now! Thanks to your new best friends! Please stay in touch!

Chad was scared initially but he got over that with lots of love and attention from his foster mother.  He appears to be in good health.

On July 21, 2014, Chad was adopted by a family in Aroostook where he'll live the life he was meant to have. Congratulations, Chad. Please write often!

On July 4, 2014 he was adopted by a family in Fredericton.  Congratulations, Stedman!  Send lots of photos as you grow up!

"Dior" came back to DunRoamin' on June 9, 2014 from Oromocto where she had been adopted in December, 2013.  She had proven to be too much puppy for a family with three very young children, so she came back to find another family.  She originally was one of nine puppies rescued from the Beechwood area where her mom was tied and the puppies were running loose.  One had already been struck and killed by a motor vehicle.  Dior and her siblings came to DunRoamin' to get a new life.  She was born on October 7, 2013.

Dior is very attentive, loving and affectionate.  She listens well, is eager to please and is very smart.  She trusts quickly and bonds easily. A typical Lab puppy, she wants and needs lots of attention and exercise and loves to play.  She also loves other dogs and would like to have a friend to play with.

On July 4, 2014, Dior was adopted by a family in Centreville.  She's very happy to have a new home.  We look forward to hearing from you, Dior.  Congratulations!

"Summer" is a Shihtzu mix who came to DunRoamin' on June 20, 2014 from near Hartland where she was surrendered by her owner.  She has just been weaned from a litter of pups and is healthy.   She was born in August, 2013.

Summer has spent too much time outdoors and would like to have a human family of her very own.  She'll be spayed as soon as possible so she doesn't have to have more babies.  She'd just like to be someone's baby for a change.

On June 24, 2014, she got that chance.  She is the newest beloved member of a couple in Quispamsis where she sleeps on her mother's bed, goes for walks and generally enjoys being loved and pampered all day long.  Her life has completely changed - she now lives the life she deserves.  Our thanks go to her new family.  Please send photos and stay in touch!

Gemma was returned to DunRoamin' when the family could not handle her antics after a third child was born.  Gemma stayed with our friends at Paw & Order in Keswick - check out their website!  She loved her time with them and . . .

. . . on June 5, 2014 she was adopted by a friend and client of Paw & Order.  Gemma now lives in Fredericton with a family which includes two kids and another dog!  Gemma loves her kids already!  Congratulations, little girl!  You've got it made now!  Thanks to Stephanie and her Paw & Order team for making this happen!

"Wiley" came to us on April 12, 2014 from the Pole Hill area.  He was a stray who had been running loose and people had been trying to catch him for seven months.  They finally succeeded and by then he was in very rough shape.  He wishes he'd known they were trying to help him - he'd have let himself get caught long ago if that had been the case!

Wiley is a shepherd mix who is about a year old and had never been neutered.  He had been shot in the right hind leg and had also most probably been hit by a car - we're not sure in what order that may have happened.  He was cold, scared and in a lot of pain so wasn't ready to trust people right away.   His leg was not able to be fixed, so he underwent surgery to amputate it.

Wiley is a sweetheart.  He loves people, loves to play, is house-trained, doesn't mind staying in his kennel, likes other dogs and does not even mind cats!  He's a whole different dog now that he's safe, warm, fed, loved and pain-free.  Now if he could just find a family to love . .

On May 31, 2014 Wiley's wish came true when he met a young lady from Newbridge.  He'll live out the rest of his life as a well-loved best friend.  Congratulations, Wylie.  It was a long time coming, but you've got it made forever now.  Please send lots of photos!

"Nicky" came to DunRoamin' on March 21, 2014 from Florenceville.  He was about six years old and is a Shihtzu.  He's paper trained, friendly, good in the car, good with dogs but was not yet familiar with cats.

Nicky had a really bad ear infection.  He so required a few minor dental extractions.  He may also need ongoing medications for his ears.  He was not yet neutered.  Nicky weighed almost 18 pounds.  He was timid at first, but thanks to love and care of his vet tech foster mother his personality soon reflected happiness, security and confidence.

On May 24, 2014 Nicky was adopted by a family in Fredericton.  Congratulations, little guy.  Please send lots of photos and updates, and come back for a visit!

"Dopey" and his five brothers and one sister were found in a cardboard box at the intersection of two dirt roads in Holmesville on the morning of February 23, 2014.  His mom was with them keeping them safe and warm.  A family had noticed the box upon their return home about 1:30 am, but never dreamed it might be full of puppies!  They were alarmed to find the puppies later on in the morning, realizing they had been in the box overnight.  Fortunately, their mom had stayed with them to keep them warm and safe, although she must have been cold.

The puppies were born about February 10, 2014 and were nursing and in good health.   Dopey has experienced some small seizures but is doing fine now.

On May 19, 2014, Dopey was adopted by his loving foster family.  He now lives in Elmwood with his new family.  Please keep in touch, Dopey.  Your DunRoamin' family misses you!

"Irene" was left in an open cardboard box on DunRoamin's doorstep about 7:30 pm on April 13, 2014.  On the box was written, "Found puppy on side of road, can't take her home.  Gave her a blanket."  It was a cold and wet night - freezing rain - much too cold for such a little girl in such terrible shape.

Irene is a wire-haired terrier mix who was about three months old but weighed only 3.8 lbs.  She was emaciated, dehydrated, starving, her left eye was injured to the point that it had to be removed, several teeth had been knocked out and she couldn't sit or stand on her own.  Subsequent x-rays showed that she had skull fractures which will heal well on their own as she's so young.  She was in pretty rough shape and on pain medications, antibiotics and treatment for her eye.

As of April 15, 2014 she was eating on her own and able to sit, stand and walk, but she appeared to have poor vision in her eye, perhaps as a result of her head trauma.  We hope it will return.  Along with Irene, we'd like to thank all the people who have donated to help pay for her care.  She's very grateful.

Irene had surgery to remove her left eye on April 30, 2014.  She is doing very well and is a happy, playful normal little puppy thanks to the care she's received from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and DunRoamin' supporters.  She appears to have vision in her right eye and loves to run and play.

On May 14, 2014, Irene was officially adopted into her new loving home.  We're grateful that she'll now have the life she deserves.  Please write often!

"Clark" came to DunRoamin' on May 1, 2014.  His owner had moved away and the people who had him in their care were unable to keep him.  He's a healthy, 54-pound, one-year-old Lab who needs lots of exercise, as is typical of his breed.

On May 13, 2014, Clark was adopted by a family near Perth-Andover, NB.

"Shane" is about two or three years old and appears to be a Husky mix.  He came from the Tobique area on April 23, 2014.  He weighed 54 pounds and was relatively healthy other than an eye infection.  He was filthy dirty when he came, but he's shiny white now with beautiful blue eyes!

Shane is now well cared for.  He was neutered, vaccinated, provided with parasite control and given lots of good food and a warm bed.  He's very eager to please, loves people, rolls over on his back to have his belly rubbed, loves going for walks, is very good and attentive on the leash.  He will be an amazing addition for anyone who is looking for a real sweetheart and gentleman to join their family.

On May 5, 2014, Shane was adopted by a family in Woodstock.  Congratulations!

Jody will be vaccinated, treated for parasites and spayed.  Then she'll go to that permanent loving home that she's wished for forever.

On May 5, 2014, Jody's wish came true.  She now lives with a family near Fredericton.  Congratulations, little girl, you did it!  You hit the jackpot!!  Write soon and tell us about your wonderful new life!

"Anaya" came to DunRoamin' from the Fredericton area on April 23, 2014 where she had been kept in a 4 x 6' area under a deck since late fall with no ability to go out and no door for anyone to go in.  There were holes in the boards for her to be fed through.  Her conditions were not good and she had little contact with anyone during her stay there.  A Rottie mix, she has had several litters of pups.

Anaya was rescued by our wonderful friends at Paw & Order in Keswick.  Please check them out - they're amazing!  Anaya, whose name means "Complete Freedom" in Sanskirt, was about four years old, was timid and nervous, of course, but came a long way in just the few hours she'd been with her new friends.  Anaya was vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas.  She will be spayed also.

Our friends at Paw & Order changed Anaya's life.  She quickly became loving and trusting - how could she not with such a great and positive change in her life?

On May 4, 2014, Anaya met the family with whom she'll spend the rest of her life.  Renamed Brooklyn, she'll be a sister for two other Rotties in Meductic and finally has the life she deserves.  Thanks to Paw & Order for making that happen!  Please visit them on Facebook and see what wonderful things they accomplish for our canine friends!

She was an extremely good mom who appeared to be a Lab mix.  She is very loving, kind, gentle, protective and affectionate.  She was wearing a collar so obviously belonged to someone.  Her seven puppies, six males and one female, were about two weeks old and she had done an excellent job at nursing them as they were all healthy and well fed by her.

Snow and her children were rescued by a family in Holmesville and fostered by some wonderful DunRoamin' supporters who are also fostering several kittens.

On April 13, 2014, Snow was adopted by a very nice couple from Fredericton.  We're SO happy that she'll have a family who will love and care for her for the rest of her life.  She deserves it.  Write soon, Snow!

"Hartley" came to DunRoamin' on February 4, 2014 from the Hartley Settlement area.  She was about a year old and weighed 45 pounds.  She was a little nervous at first but she's very sweet and just needed some stability.

Her foster mother said she should be called "Shadow," because she always wanted to be with her human.  She's a real cutie!

On April 9, 2014, Hartley was adopted by a couple in Jacksonville where she'll have three canine friends as well as feline and human friends.

"Maxine" came to DunRoamin' on March 31, 2014 from Woodstock where she had been a stray.  She was only about a year old, shy and loving.  She seems to like other dogs and cats.

Maxine was adopted to a family in Woodstock on April 7, 2014.

"Lexie" came to DunRoamin' on February 27, 2014 from Medford.  She was not spayed and in heat.  She had been very aggressive with a small dog in her old home, but displayed no such tendencies with our DunRoamin' dog people!

Lexie was fostered by our good friends at Paw and Order in Keswick.  Check them out here.  They're amazing!  She had the perfect foster family and showed absolutely no aggression whatsoever.

On April 1, 2014 we learned that Lexie had been invited to live permanently with her foster family in Nashwaaksis.  She will be a sister for two other dogs, two bunnies and a kitty, as well as her new humans, of course!  She loves them all!  Congratulations, Lexie!  Way to go!!  We'd like to thank our friends at Paw and Order and all of their staff members who are so good to our DunRoamin' dogs. What would we do without you??

"Reno" came to DunRoamin' on March 29, 2014 along with her brother Repo from the Woodstock area.  They had been seized by the NBSPCA after they had been locked in a home for at least two days without food or water.  She is an eight month-old Doberman puppy.

On March 31, 2014 she went to a home in Woodstock.

On March 29, 2014, Repo was adopted to a woman in Bedell.

"Lacey" came to DunRoamin' on March 21, 2014 from Florenceville.  She's a Yorkshire Terrier who is about five years old.  She's good in the car, paper trained, very social with people, but not so much with other animals, so she'll need a home where she's the only pet.  She doesn't want to share her love with anyone other than her very own human.  She's very cute.

Lacey was not yet spayed.  She had some mild tartar on her teeth which was addressed.  She will also be vaccinated.  She weighs 10 pounds.

Lacey was adopted on March 27, 2014 and will now live in Woodstock.

"Sneezy" and her six brothers were found in a cardboard box at the intersection of two dirt roads in Holmesville on the morning of February 23, 2014.  Her mom was with them keeping them safe and warm.
The puppies were born about February 10, 2014 and are nursing and in good health.   Sneezy has a small heart murmur which she'll probably outgrow.  They'll be ready to go to homes in about a month.  She and her family are being fostered by some generous DunRoamin' supporters who are enjoying them immensely.  Sneezy is the most active and most bad of them all!  She was the first to figure out how to climb out of the puppy enclosure!.

On March 22, 2014, she was adopted by a couple near Perth where she'll live with two other dogs and their cat friends.  Her new name is Riversong.

Sleepy is the most solitary of them all.  He'll lay and chew on his toys for some time before he needs a cuddle with his siblings.  He also likes to attack and chew on the ankles of his foster mother!

He was adopted on March 23, 2014.  He now lives in Oromocto.

He was adopted on March 23, 2014.  He now lives in Saint John with his new family.

He was adopted on March 23, 2014.  He'll live near Charter's Settlement with his new family.

"Bashful" and his five brothers and one sister were found in a cardboard box at the intersection of two dirt roads in Holmesville on the morning of February 23, 2014.  His mom was with them, keeping them safe and warm.  People had noticed the box upon their return home about 1:30 am, but had never dreamed it might be full of puppies! They were alarmed to find the puppies later on in the morning, realizing they had been in the box overnight.  Fortunately their mom had stayed with them to keep them warm and safe.

Beauregard underwent dental surgery and was neutered  The sore on his face was also attended to.  He's a beautiful boy who loves people.  His only desire was a warm, loving home where he can spend his golden years.  It's time for him to experience the life that he was due for the last 14 years.

Tonka is a playful, social, happy and loving little puppy who wants to be a family dog.  He already likes kids and cats.  His new family must commit to attend obedience classes with him to ensure he is trained commensurate with his size.  Experience with large-breed dogs is also an asset for potential adopters.

On February 4, 2014 Tonka was adopted by a family in Woodstock.  They're very familiar with large dogs, have a great home and much to offer.  Congratulations, Tonka.  Have a great life!

"Pixel" came to DunRoamin' on January 4, 2014 from the Tilley area.  She was five years old and had never been spayed or vaccinated.  She had been given away by her owners but had come back and her owners no longer wanted her.  She had much hair missing from her hind end which it was believed was because she had no company in her home while people were working.

Pixel was examined by a veterinarian and the following was learned:  she has a flea allergy which has resulted in the missing hair from her back end; she had blocked anal glands which had become infected; her nails had grown very long which made it hard for her to walk; and she had mild dental tartar.  Pixel was immediately vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and was given antibiotics for her skin disease and infection.  She was also spayed.  She'll be fine now that she is receiving the care she requires.  She's being fostered by a lady in Mount Pleasant.

On February 2, 2014 we learned that Pixel will be a permanent fixture at her foster home.  She is very attached to her mother and has become very confident and secure.  She's right where she was meant to be all along.

"Renegade" came to us on October 29, 2013.  He's a six-month-old mixed-breed Retriever.  He was surrendered when his owner was threatened with eviction if he was not removed.  Renegade was treated for fleas but was otherwise healthy.

Renegade is a real "pleaser."  He wants to do anything that will make his foster mother happy.  He loves to play ball and tug, and he's a quiet little boy.  He plays well with other dogs and goes happily into his crate for a sleep at night.  He's house-broken, calm, quiet and well-mannered.  He now knows "sit" and "down" and is working on some others.  He's a very happy boy and is looking forward to having a permanent home.

On January 18, 2014, Renegade met a couple from Douglas and the rest is history.  He'll live happily ever after with them.  Please send lots of family photos!  Best wishes, Renegade!
